Makeup brushes will have cosmetic residues on them after use, so they need to be cleaned regularly after a long time. And makeup brushes with different uses should have different cleaning methods. The following is a description of the different cleaning methods for makeup brushes. But if you don’t want to clean brushes, that’s ok too. You can come to our beauty deals to buy new ones.

Best Way to Clean Makeup Brushes

Method 1 # Soak Bath Wash

For dry powder brushes with less makeup residue, such as loose powder brushes and blush brushes.

Step 1: Get a container, mix the water and professional scrubbing water 1:1. If the product has a special mixing ratio, follow the instructions, and then mix by hand.

Step 2: Soak the brush partially in the water and make a circular motion, and then you’ll see the water become cloudy.

Step 3: Pour out the muddy water. Take water in the container, and continue to beat the brush head.

Step 4: Repeat several times until the water is no longer cloudy, then rinse it under the faucet again and dry it with paper towels.

  1. When rinsing, do not rinse against the hair direction. If the brush bar is made of wood, dry it quickly after soaking in water to avoid cracking after drying. Although it is unavoidable to soak the brush in water when rinsing, try not to soak the whole brush in water, especially if there is washing liquid.

Method 2 # Frictional Cleaning

l  For brushes used in cream such as foundation, concealer, eyeliner, and lip brushes; or dry powder brushes with a lot of makeup residue, such as eye shadow brushes.

Step 1: Dampen the brush with water, then pour the professional scrubbing water onto the palm of your hand/ scrubbing pad.

Step 2: Using the brush portion, repeatedly make circular motions on the palm of your hand/brush pad until the foam is formed, then rinse with water.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 until makeup brushes are clean.

Step 4: Finally, rinse it under the faucet and dry it with paper towels.

PS: Choose a professional remover or a weakly acidic baby shampoo. Do not replace it with a cleanser or shampoo with silicone ingredients, or it may affect the fluffiness of the bristles and the ability to grip the powder.

To test the scrubbing water residue, you can use the brush on the palm of your hand repeatedly in circular motions. No lathering and no slippery feeling, it means that the brush is clean.

Method 3 # Dry Cleaning

l  For dry-powder brushes with little residue of cosmetics, and animal-hair brushes that are not washable. In addition to protecting the brushes, they are also ideal for lazy people who don’t want to wash their brushes.

Step 1: Take the makeup brush freshly used and apply it to the black sponge, then rub it clockwise a few times. If the sponge gets dirty, take it out and wash it. The absorbent sponge in the middle of the brush is used to wet the eyeshadow brush. It will make it easy to apply eye makeup, which is more suitable for colorless eyeshadow.

Step 2: Dumb the dry powder makeup brush into the loose powder/talcum powder until the loose powder/talcum powder is dirty and the brush is clean. This leads to the easiest way to remove loose powder from your brush: dab the brush with a little loose powder on a paper towel and then rub it in the same direction.

However, makeup brushes can become less smooth after too many washes. And when you feel a stinging sensation as the brush passes over your face, it’s time to change your makeup brushes. Come to find your favorite pick brush in our beauty deals.
