Death, taxes, and dents in your car are the only things you can count on. Even if your vehicle is in perfect condition, things can still go wrong. For example, a shopping cart may run away, a football might be thrown incorrectly, or unforeseen light posts could appear.

You may be wondering how to remove a dent. You can take it to your local body shop for repairs, but the price can be outrageous, especially if you want them to remove the paint or apply body filler. Are you paying $200 to fix a tiny dent? I’m still determining.

Save yourself money by doing it yourself. You don’t have to be an expert in removing a small dent from your car without damaging the paint.

You may only be able to use some of these tricks on your car, depending on the type of material used for your bumper, body panel, or hood (aluminum carbon fiber, steel, plastic, fiberglass, etc.) and where you have the dent. For example, paintless dent removal can be difficult with aluminum because it has low memory.

Method 1

Use a Plunger

You can use a plunger to unclog drains and remove small-to-medium-sized dents from your car. You can use a plunger to remove marks from your vehicle. Spray water onto the plunger, then push and pull until the pattern pops out. Use a cup plunger (for sinks), not a flange one (for toilets).

Method 2

Boiling water

One of the easiest methods to cause a dent is reversing into a hard object. Even if you try to remove the bumper from plastic bumpers, the plastic may be too stiff to help push the dent out. This problem can be solved by boiling water and pouring it over the mark. Once you run the hot water on the pattern, push the dentin. The heat from the water will make the plastic more flexible and easier to place back in the bumper.

You’ll need to act quickly, as the heat will not last long. Keep pouring boiling water over the dent until it’s completely gone.

Method 3

Use a hair dryer & compressed air.

Two popular household items can be used to remove car dents from plastic: A hair dryer and compressed air.

Once the dent is hot enough, grab the compressed air can and spray it on the same area. Once the pattern is hot enough, spray it with compressed air using a can. The cold air will contract the plastic, causing the dent to pop out.

Methode 4

Dry Ice

Dry ice is primarily used to cool your car but can also be used to remove minor dents. Wearing protective gloves, rub dry ice into the pattern until it pops back in place.

You can apply the dry ice to the dent as often as necessary, but it will eventually pop out if the ding is not too deep. Try heating the mark with a hairdryer (similar to tip #1 above) and then applying the dry ice.

Method 5

Use a vacuum cleaner & pot.

The best way to remove a dent is by using suction, but finding the right dent-puller with the correct force is difficult. Why not make your own? You can remove the mark from your car with a pot or bucket, a cleaner, and some tape.

Make a small hole beneath the pot. Tape the bank around the dent. Place the vacuum cleaner hose on top of the hole. Then, turn your vacuum on. The suction should remove the mark if it is not too deep.

Method 6

Use Hot Glue, Wooden Dowels, & Screws

You can safely remove large dents from your car using several wooden dowels, a few screws, and a data-hover-url=”https://www.amazon.com/ccbetter-Up You can safely remove large prints from your vehicle by using a combination of wooden dowels and screws along with hot glue gun.

Place two nails on each side and hot glue the bottom. Place the dowels with the glue side down around the dent. Repeat as necessary to cover the entire area. Let them dry, and then pull out each one until the mark has disappeared.

The dent will be removed if you place and pull the same dowels at different locations. You’ll need enough glue to do this and patience. Use rubbing liquor or heating to remove the glue.

Method 7

Use a long metal rod & knockdown.

The metal surrounding the dent on your car moves inward and upwards, creating a little volcano. It is, therefore, not a good idea to pop the pattern from the bottom.

George Gjokaj is a Master Paintless Dent Repair Technician (PDR). He fixes dents on both sides. He can remove the pattern from the car using a metal rod on the bottom and a wooden or rubber tool on the top. It works!

Method 8

Special Tool Use

If none of the methods above work, you can also use a pop-a-dent or a dent remover with a suction cup.
