How to close an ironing board?
Ironing boards are a must-have in every household. Since the invention of ironing boards, most people no longer iron-on tables or beds. Before we learn how to fold and close an ironing board, let’s talk about ironing boards.
Flat surfaces are the norm for ironing boards. What else can you do to keep your clothes flat while ironing? A decorative cover and foam pad are used to cover the flat metal base.
The cover is made from a heat-resistant, beautiful fabric. These covers can be customized to catch the attention of buyers and are available in a variety of colours.
The foam is a small pad that has tiny vent holes. These allow steam to enter clothes and escape. The steam from a steamer iron does not burn you. It passes through your clothes, through the foam pad, and into the air.
The point of the ironing board is rounded at one end. This makes it easier to iron trousers and sleeves. The ironing board’s other end has a heatproof iron rest. An iron rest should be large enough to support a heavy iron to iron correctly. It should be strong enough to hold the iron in its place.
Portable ironing boards
These can be easily moved around your house. These have foldable legs and can be extended. These legs can be folded up when you’re done ironing and then folded back when not in use.
You can adjust the height of your portable ironing board. These ironing boards are great for keeping around the house.
Table top Ironing Boards
This type of ironing board can be used on a table or counter. This ironing board is very popular among those who live in tiny spaces, such as apartments or dorm rooms. It’s also easy to transport and is very convenient.
Wall Mounted Ironing Boards
The ironing board can be folded out of a closet or wall. This ironing board is ideal for those who live in apartments or smaller homes. It can also be used in tight spaces. It is easy to put away because it can be stored flat against the wall.
We now know which ironing board is best. Of course, the portable one. These ironing boards’ legs aren’t as strong as they appear and should be folded carefully.
Let’s now look at the steps:
How do you fold/close an ironing board?
Make sure that your ironing board is equipped with a lever press. The lever press should be located at the board’s edge. You can test each lever individually if you have two. If your legs move, you can push the lever that moves when you want it folded.
These steps will help you fold your ironing board on the floor. You must not pinch your fingers or damage a nail during the process.
- One hand should be on the lever press, the other on the opposite end of the board. If you are making your first attempt to fold the ironing board, be sure to hold the other end of it.
- Slowly press the lever. Slowly press the lever. As you press the ironing board, ensure it is parallel to the floor.
- Lower the board until it reaches the floor. Your feet should be moved out of the way. Release the lever once the board is flatted on the floor. Notice how the legs move in and out of the lever? They become firm once you stop pressing the lever.
- Lift the board so that the nose or the round part of the board is facing upward.
- As you hold the board steady with one hand, secure the legs in the leg lock with the other.
- Congratulations! Congratulations! You’ve learned how to fold an ironing board.
If you don’t have the patience or time to fold the ironing boards when they are on the ground, you can fold them when they are standing. This can be tricky. Watch out for your fingers and nails again!
- With one hand, press the lever press and with the other, lean the board towards your rear feet using the other hand.
- As you lower the back of the board to its floor, raise the rounded end.
- Slowly press the lever and watch the front feet rise from the ground as the legs are folded closed.
- Secure the legs in the leg lock once they are fully folded.
Congratulations!
