01. De-icing Steps, Driveway, Patio, and Sidewalk

Use natural clay kitty litter, sand or granular fertilizer instead of rock salt. Use granular or natural clay kitty-litter, sand, or sand instead (available at garden supply shops).

Spread a light dusting of baking powder to melt the ice. This will help you avoid slipping. It won’t eat away at your outdoor floor covering or the soles on your shoes.

Cornmeal can help you thaw out your deck if it is frozen. It will give you traction on your deck without damaging it or harming the garden. Aren’t these simple tricks for cleaning your house easy to do?

02. Safer Concrete Steps

Paint the concrete steps by mixing half a cup clean sand with a can. The sand will provide some traction if the steps are wet or icy. These colourful steps will enhance the beauty of any home. If you paint the steps white, it will be easier to see them in the dark, especially if there is no outside lighting.

03. Snow Shovelling Made Easy

No matter how cold it is where you live, apply a coat or two of floor wax to your snow shovel. This will prevent the metal from rusting and, when you use the shovel, it will make the snow glide on and off easily.

Spray the non-stick vegetable spray on the shovel if you forgot to apply the floor wax and need to use it now. Once the floor wax has dried, you can start using your shovel.

You also need to take care of your house cleaning equipment. You want them to work properly in your next cleaning session.

04. Remove Moss

You may be tired of the moss growing on your brick or stone path. You are at the right place. We have an easy solution to remove moss. This remedy will get rid of moss growth. In a spray bottle, combine two tablespoons of rubbing liquor and one pint water. Spray the solution on the moss and then wash it off with a garden hose.

05. Remove Stains from Concrete

Pour any concrete that has grease stains on it, you can use liquid dishwashing soap. Allow it to sit for an hour. Pour hot water over it. Repeat the process if the stain hasn’t been completely removed (which it probably won’t). This is the best way to remove stains from concrete.

06. Remove Storm Windows and Doors

Spray non-stick vegetable oil on metal door and window frames to make putting up and taking down the seasonal decorations a lot easier!

07. Unlocking Door Locks

Any of the following can help if your key isn’t moving smoothly in and out of the lock.

Spray the key with a non-stick vegetable spray. Before it dries out, insert the key into the hole a few more times.
Powder puffs or cotton balls can be dipped in talcum and then smacked on the keyhole. It is important to powder the keyhole.
Use a graphite pencil to rub the serrated edge and underside of the key. Transfer the graphite on the key to the keyhole. Put the key into the lock, and move it back and forth until the key is clean.

08. Unsticking Outdoor Bulbs

It can be difficult to remove a light bulb from a socket shell if it is covered in moisture, pollen, dirt, or dust. You can easily unscrew the bulb if you coat the base threads with petroleum jelly.
