How to install butcher block countertops?
A Butcher block is made of slices of wood, which are glued together to form thick slabs that can withstand daily heavy use. You can make them from any wood, but Nathan preferred maple because it is durable and hard.
What is the best finish for a butcher block?
It is best to finish the butcher block immediately as it can stain easily. Nathan only uses mineral oil to finish butcher blocks. This is a safe and food-safe finish that is essential in the kitchen.
To start, you will need to apply 2-3 layers of finish. After that, you will need to add a layer about once per month. It will give your kitchen a rustic, rustic look while being budget-friendly.
