Cleaning your window with a squeegee is a very easy job, also this tool cleans the window like a pro. The whole setup is inexpensive as compared to the advanced pure water window cleaning equipment. Along with a squeegee, you’ll need a scrub, a bucket, a handwashing liquid, and few rugs or towels. Now you could also get proficient with a squeegee by getting to know some secrets and tricks to clean the windows properly.
The process is as simple as making a solution, dipping the squeegee in the bucket, and cleaning the window but there are some methods that must be implemented for cleaning with efficiency. First, let’s know about squeegee in detail.

The rubber which is attached to the front which is in contact with the glass is called the squeegee rubber.

This holds the squeegee rubber in place.

This is where one holds the complete tool and is connected to the squeegee channel.

How To Hold A Squeegee
The key to holding a squeegee is to relax. Relax your arm, don’t put pressure on the window and rub the squeegee on the surface gently. Go easy on the squeegee, don’t tire yourself out, and refrain from putting too much pressure on the glass. So, the right amount of pressure is the real key when you are cleaning with a squeegee. It is recommended to change the rubber after 5-6 hours of use.
Techniques And Principles OF Squeegee
Base Distance and Angle
The base angle or the base distance refers to the position at which you hold the squeegee with respect to the glass surface. Thee base distance is the distance from where you grip the handle to the end of the surface which is in contact with the glass. The correct distance is around 7 centimeters. If the base is too small or too far then it will tire you out quickly as you will have to apply more pressure to do the same work. Test your skills by taking notes when you begin the process and taking notes when you end it. The goal is to ensure that you work efficiently.
Cleaning Across
Cleaning across the window is the preferred method. It may not always be possible and practical but there are certain advantages due to which this is a suggested method. It is easier for you to maintain the same base distance and remain consistent with your work. It helps you control the squeegee better. Lastly, the moisture is spread equally.
Method Of Squeegee
1. After washing the window, cut the edge all the way to the top and left-hand side of the frame.
2. Place your squeegee on the dry part of the frame and begin with the cleaning process.
3. Apply the pressure gently and gently move the squeegee all the way from the top left to the top right corner on one go. At all times, try to maintain the 7 centimeters base distance and the perfect base angle.
4. When you reach the other side, pull the squeegee rubber up, slightly bringing it to the edge of the frame.
5. Remove the squeegee from the window and clean the moisture on the rubber with a clothing
6. Now repeat the same process, again and again, overlapping each time by 3-4 centimeters.
7. After the cleaning process, if there is any moisture left on the window, use a cloth to wipe out any moisture that is left on the window.
