The cushions are designed to last but you may need to replace them for various reasons. Our cushions are actually made up of two parts, the inserts and covers. You may require one or both at some point. This guide will tell you everything you need to replace cushions or covers on outdoor furniture.

Why you should replace your cushions or covers

If you want to change the color scheme of your outdoor furniture, it’s time to replace cushions. The cushions may be in good condition, but your tastes may have changed. Choose a color from the cushions that are designed for your furniture set and choose one that matches your new design. Deep seating is usually characterized by a deeper seat and can be more comfortable for taller individuals. High-back furniture has taller backs to provide more support. Select the Right Fabric

It is important to choose the right fabric when replacing cushions or covers. It should look good and feel nice, but also be durable and long-lasting. Look for fabrics that are both water-resistant or resistant to fading, as well as waterproof. Textilene : Often used for sun canopies, sling seating and other sling products, Textilene resists moisture, fading and mold. This fabric is not water-resistant, but it does heat up in the sun.

Olefin fiber: Also known as polypropylene. This fabric is resistant to fading, mildew, and mold.

Vinyl: Vinyl can be easily cleaned and maintained, but it can get hot when exposed to direct sunlight. Children should not use this product.

Polyester : Polyester is a cost-effective fabric that resists UV rays and mildew.

How to Measure Replacement Cushions and Covers

You want to make sure that the cushions and covers you choose are the right size. This is true whether you need to replace them because they’ve worn out, update your furniture or add some color. Here are some quick measurements to help you get the perfect patio cushions for your outdoor area. You can either use the existing cushions or furniture to measure, depending on where you order your replacements. You can measure both if you’re not sure which one is best. 2) You’ll need a tape measure, a pencil and some paper. It is easier to use a rigid tape measure than a flexible one. When using a tape measure, position the hook to grab one side of the measurement area. You can lock the measuring tape in place by pulling it across the area and locking it. This way, you won’t need to worry about the tape retracting before you are ready. If you need to round a number, round it up. Cushions or covers are often available in sizes that round up to the nearest half inch. Cushions with a larger size will be more comfortable. When measuring cushions, place them flat and dry.   • Measure the depth of a cushion from top to bottom (for back cushions) and back-to front (for seat cushions).

You will also need to know the width, height and depth of your furniture.

• • Measure the width of the seat (left to right) in three places: the front edge, between the arms and at the back. Use the largest measurement.
  • Height also refers here to the thickness of a cushion. If you’re unsure of how plush the cushion should be, place the measuring tape against the back or seat to determine how high it will extend.
  • To measure the length and depth of the seating area, you only need to take one measurement: Measure in the middle of the seat at the point where the seating surface meets the back. Measure the depth of the seat by measuring from the top edge of the seating surface to the point where it meets with the back.
