The non-hybrid Tundra with two-wheel-drive is rated at up to 18 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. All-wheel-drive reduces these figures by one mpg. The Tundra’s interior features a large dashboard with air vents that are prominently displayed and a smooth, thick center section connecting the door panels. The center console, dash, and doors use much better materials than the previous generation. The quality increases as you move up the trim levels. For example, the 1794 Edition has attractive wood accents. All models feature a versatile center console with a large center bin. Standard instrument panels have two analog gauges, a driver information display, and a small pair of meters. Top trim levels feature a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The Tundra is available in two body styles and three cargo bed lengths. The extended Cab is also known as the Double Cab or Extended Cab. Double Cab is available in either a bed of 6.5 or 8.1 feet. The crew cab, or the “double cab,” is available with a 6.5- or 8.1-foot bed. The CrewMax is available with a bed of either 5.5 or 6.5 feet.
Infotainment & Connectivity
The Nissan Titan is the only full-size truck that does not offer a 12-inch touchscreen. The Tundra has an 8.0-inch screen but can be upgraded to a 14.0-inch horizontally oriented touchscreen. This is superior to the other trucks. The Tundra has a handy volume knob and wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. However, there is no tuning knob on the steering wheel, and its controls are limited. There is also a subscription-based WiFi hotspot.
