Lets face it…the health of the population has decreased significantly in recent years. Although science and technology, has advanced us further into the future, it seems from a health perspective, we are regressing somewhat. There are more levels of obesity than ever before, and its starting to even affect the younger generation. It seems as a whole, we have gotten lazier. In this post I’m going to talk about how we can go about making fat loss work for us, individually. If children are the future, what are our lives for the next decade going to be like?

How to Lose Weight Fast

It seems somewhere along the line, we started to neglect proper eating habits (I.e. Grandma’s way) and started eating all manners of junk foods.(For the record, grandma’s way was Eating 3 square meals a day, no dessert till you finished your greens etc.) Fast food chains grew in number and just overtook all our ideas of nutrition. Foods that came from dead sources was considered the most tasty and natural foods were considered “boring”. All of this coupled with the fact that were spending less time being active and more time on the couch. And there seems to be more and more money going into these fad diets, for instance Americans spend approx. 42 billion annually on weight loss services and products. If we think about it holistically, a calorie is a calorie.

Obviously the source of these calories is important, but we’re agreed that a calorie is and alway has been a calorie. Now to lose weight, we need to burn more of these calories than we consume and vice versa, if we consume more calories than we burn we put on weight. So in essence, to lose weight we need to move more and eat less. That simple. Now, eating less means to create a calorific deficit or a decrease in how much we eat, and the best way to do this is to eat clean foods but in lower amounts. By clean foods, I mean foods that came from a live source like chicken, fruit, plants(veg) etc and are unprocessed. The more we eat this way, the harder it is to overeat. For example, the best way to get healthy natural carbs is to get it 90 percent of it from fruit and veg and it is very hard to overeat fruit and vegetables. Fastest Way to Lose Weight

For the main part I try to eat clean for most of the week. I will get 60 percent of my food from live fuel. My diet consists of 60 % carbs, 30% protein and ten % fats. I try to eat as much fruit and veg as possible (at least ten portions) and water is an absolute must, at least 2 16 ounce bottles per day. I try to create some flexibility in this as well, I follow the 80/20 rule, I.e. Eat clean 80 % of the time and for the other 20 % you can reward yourself. Once a week, I will have a cheat meal of whatever I want just to reward myself. This in itself also aids in fat loss both physically and psychologically. This is fat loss in a nutshell, move more and eat less. To be honest, however convenient or the easiest way to do this is entirely up to you as long as you decrease weekly calorie intake and increase activity. NB: This is a picture of a good friend of mine who decided to include more activity in her daily life. She is a student but works as well so has a hectic lifestyle.
